Chullickal
St. Joseph's UP School with the highest strength of
students in 1967 in Ernakulam District was an 'Ezhuthu
Pallikoodam' until 1910 under the guidance of Sri. P.A.
Abraham Vydian (Kochasan Vydian). In 1925 the Ezhuthu
pallikoodam was recognized as St. Joseph's School, under
the leadership of Rev. Fr. Augustine Menezis. The rooms
adjacent to the Parochial church were utilized for the
School.
It was upgraded to U.P. School in 1961
by the then Vicar Rev. Msgr. Mathew Kothakath. Later - in
1983 it was upgraded as High School. Rev. Fr. Jacob
Peediackal was the local Manager and Sri. K.J. Thomas was
the First Headmaster of the St. Joseph's High School,
Chullickal.
In 1954 St. Josephs School Ground
(Lanthaparambu) had the privilege of receiving India's
First Hon. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in an official
state wide auspicious function of special educational
programme named 'Balagram' inaugurated in her own soil.
As
part of the project of Corporate Educational Agency to
provide audio-visual rooms in the schools of the diocese,
the first Audio-visual room was blessed and inaugurated at
St Joseph's High school, Chullickal on 16th January 2012.
